Event/Site: Music at Twilight on the Grounds of Town Hall in Kernersville

Date: Fourth Thursday of Each Month, April through July; from 7:00 - 8:30pm.

Type: Monthly outdoor concert series featuring local bluegrass, big band, Moravian and jazz musicians in the courtyard of the Town Hall.

Location: The courtyard in front of Town Hall at 136 East Main Street in downtown
Kernersville. Take the Kernersville Main St. Exit off I-40. Follow Main St. to the center of town. Turn right on East Mountain St. Town Hall is on right behind the Kernersville Public Library. Click here for a map.

Cost: Free.

Parking: Free. Parking adequate for bus tours.

Special Needs Access: Venue is fully accessible. Restrooms are close by in the public
library.

Signage: Signs at location but not en route.

Description of Event: Featured groups have included String Fever, a local bluegrass band; Society Swing, a big band; Davis, Hastings and Reid Trio, jazz; local gospel groups; and Golden Triad Chorus and Triad Harmony Express, choral groups that have won national honors.

History of Event: The Music at Twilight series began in 2000.

Description/History of Site: Concerts are held in the courtyard of the Town Hall, a big grassy area where people can bring lawn chairs or blankets. Picnic-type food is available for purchase and restrooms are available in the public library nearby.

Significance of Site/Event to the Community: Regularly occurring community-sponsored music events that infuse areas with the sounds of regional music offer benefits to the musicians who find exposure there and to the community members who enjoy a relaxed, cultural outing.
